Appraisal

During and after the show, we came to understand that for a debut event, it was a huge success, not only based on the size and range of exhibitors, but also on the enthusiasm expressed by a large number of participants. Apart from Indian Companies, Aerodrome India 2005 saw participation from companies from across the cross section of the globe ranging from Australia to USA through Middle East, Gulf and Europe.

Though there weren’t any major pavilions/group participations, which are a norm in this sector, the presence of individual companies (many representing their principals) was indeed encouraging. Another welcome observation was the presence of top-notch management personnel from the exhibiting companies, which indicates the significance accorded to this event by the industry.

The most important positive indication seems to be the response of the companies on participation in the second edition. Around 81 per cent of the exhibiting companies have expressed their willingness to participate in the second edition of Aerodrome India.

Aerodrome India 2005 – Seminar Overview

A successful three-day Seminar covering topics under Airport Infrastructure, Airport Security, Airline Operations and Airspace Management was organised under the auspices of Aerodrome India 2005.

There were around 400 Delegates who attended the Seminar and all of them uniformly and unanimously appreciated the contents of the Seminar to the extent that not only everyone wanted to have the proceedings of the seminar published early but also desired to have a copy of the same sent to them without fail.

The above observation, in a nutshell, describes eloquently the success of the seminar. Individual observations mainly pertained to the inadequacy of inter-active Question & Answer Sessions due to the heavy agenda.

Secondly, the delegates sitting at the back felt that the figures/sentences projected on the common large screens (installed on either side of the dais) during presentations were not clearly visible at the back. Hence the delegates felt that the screens could be positioned at the middle of the hall as well so that the people at the back could  conveniently read the projected material.

Further, a general observation from majority of the delegates was that the AC background noise was interfering with the audio, which needs to be eliminated and the delegates also felt that seminar hall progressively became colder than necessary for comfort. Hence, a proper temperature control equipment was required.

Registration process of delegates, issuing of badges and Seminar delegate kits requires streamlining for improving the operational efficiency.
